Open Positions in Bin Tian Laboratory Lab Home

Postdoctoral Fellow in RNA Biology

We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral candidate to study RNA biology, focusing on molecular mechanisms and cellular consequences of alternative polyadenylation in cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. The successful candidate will use cutting-edge techniques, including genomic engineering with CRISPR, single cell analysis (such as scRNA-seq and smFISH), and deep sequencing of RNA at different steps of biogenesis and metabolism (such as NET-seq to study transcription and Ribo-seq to study translation) to examine processing mechanisms and metabolisms of mRNAs and ncRNAs. Our lab uses molecular biology, genomics, and computational approaches to study RNA biology, centering on alternative polyadenylation, a widespread mechanism in eukaryotes that regulates gene expression at multiple levels (see a recent review:

Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology or a related field. Experience with embryonic stem cells is a strong plus but not required.

Our lab is located in Northern New Jersey. Many scientific and educational opportunities are available in the NY/NJ metropolitan area, as well as cultural and entertainment activities. Rutgers University is a leading national research university and the state’s preeminent, comprehensive public institution of higher education.

Interested individuals should contact Dr. Bin Tian by email ( with a CV including a summary of previous research and contact information of 2-3 referees.
